If one of the parents has decided to relocate after a divorce has been settled, the parties must first revert to the custody agreement determined at the time of the divorce. If in the divorce settlement, it was determined in the event that one parent was permitted to relocate or not. If it is, the terms determined must be followed by the relocating party.
If relocation of a parent was not determined during the divorce settlement, both parents, must involve the courts to determine the guidelines for parent relocation for the best interest of the child in regards to possible relocation as well, to visitation with the court’s decision.
